Pasion is best remembered for his magnificent films. "Jay" which was his first feature film, that he also wrote, is a film based on a story of a television documentary producer who documented the murder case of a gay school teacher, and starred by Baron Geisler and Coco Martin. It won multiple awards including Best Film, Best Actor (for Geisler, Best Editing, and the Balanghai Trophy in the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival. The film also premiered in the Orizzonti section of the Venice International Film Festival, screened and won several accolades from Gawad Urian, Busan, Berlin and other film festivals including the Special Mention award (New Visions category) in the 5th Bahamas International Film Festival. Pasion's other films include "Sampaguita, National Flower" and "Bwaya" which were greatly acknowledged in several international film festivals. In the mainstream media, Pasion is also known for directing several episodes of TV series such as "Princess and I', "Nathaniel", "Dyesebel (2014 series)", "My Binondo Girl", and "Sabel", among several others.

Many celebrities and personalities have expressed their deepest condolences. The group Dakila, which recently held their Active Vista Film Festival, on which Pasion is a part of, also expressed their deepest condolences: "We mourn the death of Direk Francis Xavier Pasion, filmmaker, artist, advocate, colleague, friend and one of the most generous and kindest soul in the film industry. Francis is one of the strongest supporter of Dakila's Active Vista Film Festival. He is the filmmaker behind independent films such as Jay, Buwaya and Sampaguita as well as several tv shows. He is the founder of the Loyola Film Circle. Rest in peace, Francis. You will truly be missed. Ikaw ay tunay na #LahingDakila"
